Aged-wood-effect spruce three-ply panel – made to measure to the nearest mm

WoodUp’s aged-wood-effect spruce three-ply panel is made from antique-effect steamed spruce three-ply (with outer plies steamed on both sides) and is PEFC certified. It is cut and machined to order to your exact specifications: 10 to 300 cm long and 10 to 120 cm wide, to the nearest millimetre. Its outer plies are steamed on both sides, developing a deep golden-brown colour reminiscent of naturally weathered old wood. This gives it a sought-after decorative appearance without any artificial ageing treatment – the steam treatment creates the effect. The panel is supplied with the finish selected in the configurator: sanded and unfinished, oiled or varnished. If you choose the sanded, unfinished option, a protective finish is recommended before use.

Use and finishing advice

If you choose the sanded, unfinished option, apply a protective finish before use. For a surface subject to wear, polyurethane floor varnish (2 to 3 coats) provides the best resistance. For a natural matt look, hard oil penetrates the fibres and nourishes the wood – reapply every 1 to 2 years, depending on use. Apply the finish to every face before installation, including those that will be inaccessible afterwards.

Before use, store the panel flat in the room where it will be installed for 48 to 72 hours to let it acclimatise to the ambient humidity.

Before ordering: the aged-wood effect comes from thorough steam treatment of the panel, not an artificial surface patina. The colour is therefore even and long-lasting, even after machining or cutting. Pre-drilling is recommended. An optional finish (clear oil) can enhance the depth of colour. Indoor use only.

What finish should I apply to this panel?

The panel is supplied with your chosen finish: sanded and unfinished, oiled or varnished. This is a genuine deep steam treatment, not a surface stain. The outer plies are steamed on both sides, producing an even golden-brown colour throughout the wood. The colour therefore does not fade with wear or if the panel is cut later.

How do I order drilling or laser printing options?
