The WoodUp antique steamed spruce triply panel is made from antique steamed spruce triply (outer plies steamed on both sides), PEFC certified. It is cut and machined to order according to your exact specifications: 10 to 300 cm in length, 10 to 120 cm in width, to the nearest millimetre. The antique steamed spruce triply panel is distinguished by its outer plies steamed on both sides, which develop a deep golden-brown tone evoking naturally patinated aged wood. This aesthetic quality makes it a sought-after decorative choice, with no artificial ageing treatment applied — it is the steaming process that creates this effect. The panel is delivered according to the finish selected in the configurator: sanded raw, oiled or varnished. A protective finish is recommended before use if you opt for the sanded raw option.

Usage and finishing tips

If you have opted for the sanded raw finish, apply a protective finish before use. For a surface subject to wear, a polyurethane varnish (2 to 3 coats) offers the best resistance. For a natural matt look, a hard oil penetrates the fibres and nourishes the wood — to be renewed every 1 to 2 years depending on use. Apply the finish to all faces before installation, including those that will be inaccessible once in place.

Before any installation, store the panel flat in the room where it will be used for 48 to 72 hours so that it acclimatises to the ambient humidity.

What to know before ordering: the aged wood effect results from an intensive steaming process applied to the panel, not an artificial surface patina — the colour is therefore uniform and long-lasting, even after machining or cutting. Pre-drilling recommended. Optional finish (clear oil) to enhance the depth of the colour. Indoor use only.
