Frequently asked questions

Which handrails is this bracket compatible with?

This bracket is compatible with handrails with a 21x5 mm groove (moulded 50x50 mm, flat 70x28 mm, etc.).

Does this bracket come with wall fixings?

No, wall fixings are not supplied. Choose them to suit the wall material (concrete, brick or plaster) and the handrail material (wood, metal or aluminium) to ensure a secure fit.

What is the recommended spacing between brackets?

For a secure fit, the recommended spacing is no more than 80 to 100 cm between brackets. Position a bracket within 30 cm of each end of the handrail.

Is this bracket suitable for outdoor use?

Check the bracket material before installing it outdoors. Stainless steel brackets are suitable for outdoor use. Zinc-plated metal brackets are suitable for sheltered outdoor areas. Painted brackets are for indoor use only.

What is the difference between a fixed bracket and an adjustable bracket?

A fixed bracket screws directly into the wall at a preset angle, making it simpler to install. An adjustable bracket lets you adjust the angle (generally over 2 cm) to compensate for slight unevenness in the wall or staircase, making installation easier in non-standard layouts.
