Frequently asked questions

Which handrails is this bracket compatible with?

This bracket is compatible with handrails 42 mm in diameter.

Does this bracket come with wall fixings?

No, wall fixings are not supplied. Choose fixings to suit the wall material (concrete, brick or plaster) and the handrail material (wood, metal or aluminium) to ensure a secure hold.

What spacing is recommended between brackets?

For a secure hold, the recommended spacing is 80 to 100 cm at most between brackets. Position a bracket within 30 cm of each end of the handrail.

Is this bracket suitable for outdoor use?

Check the bracket material before installing it outdoors. Stainless steel brackets are suitable for outdoor use. Galvanised metal brackets are suitable for sheltered outdoor locations. Painted brackets are for indoor use only.

What is the difference between a fixed and an adjustable bracket?

A fixed bracket screws directly into the wall at a preset angle, making it easier to install. An adjustable bracket lets you adjust the angle (generally by 2 cm) to compensate for slight irregularities in the wall or staircase, making installation easier in non-standard layouts.
