Rustic oak triply panel — custom-made to the millimetre
The WoodUp rustic oak triply panel is made from rustic oak / old oak triply (3 cold-bonded plies, central ply crossed at 90°), PEFC certified. It is cut and machined to order according to your exact specifications: 10 to 300 cm in length, 10 to 120 cm in width, to the nearest millimetre. The rustic oak triply panel (also known as old oak) combines the cross-ply structure of triply with a rustic oak grade: more numerous knots, accentuated wood structure, slight colour variations tolerated. This more pronounced and natural look is sought after for projects with an authentic character. The central ply crossed at 90° provides high mechanical resistance. The panel is delivered according to the finish chosen in the configurator: sanded raw, oiled or varnished. A protective finish is recommended before use if you opt for the sanded raw finish.
Configure directly on this page the dimensions, thickness, shape (straight, oval, circle, octagon), edge machining (chamfer, rounded, quarter-round) and rounded corners. For on-request options (drilling, laser engraving, CNC cutting), contact the WoodUp customer service team before finalising your order.

Usage and finishing advice
If you have opted for the sanded raw finish, apply a protective finish before use. For a surface subject to wear, a polyurethane varnish (2 to 3 coats) offers the best resistance. For a natural matt look, a hard oil penetrates the fibres and nourishes the wood — to be renewed every 1 to 2 years depending on use. Apply the finish to all faces before installation, including those that will be inaccessible once in place.
Before any installation, store the panel flat in the room where it will be used for 48 to 72 hours to allow it to acclimatise to the ambient humidity.
WoodUp tip
Important before ordering: the rustic grade means that knots, reaction wood and slight variations in colour are an integral part of the panel's appearance — this is not a defect but a sought-after aesthetic characteristic. Oak tannins react on contact with iron: use exclusively stainless steel or brass-plated screws. Finishing is mandatory before installation; allow 10 days to dry after application.
Frequently asked questions
Can this panel be ordered with rounded edges or a special shape?
Yes. Several machining options are available in the configurator: chamfer, rounded and quarter-round for edges, rounded corners, and special shapes — oval, circle or octagon. For complex options (drilling, CNC cutting, laser engraving), contact the WoodUp customer service team before finalising your order.
What finish should be applied to this panel?
The panel is delivered according to the chosen option: sanded raw, oiled or varnished. For a surface subject to wear, a polyurethane varnish applied in 2 to 3 coats offers the best resistance. For a natural look, a hard oil to be renewed every 1 to 2 years. Finish all faces before installation.
What is the delivery time?
The panel is made to order and dispatched within 10 working days. You can track progress from your WoodUp customer account.
Do rustic oak and old oak refer to the same product?
Yes, these are two names for the same panel and the same grade: an oak with a more pronounced look, featuring knots and an accentuated wood structure, sought after for its authentic character. WoodUp uses both terms depending on the context, but the delivered product is identical.
Is the rustic grade less strong than the standard grade?
No. The rustic grade concerns only the surface aesthetic (knots, colour variations) — the mechanical strength of the triply panel remains identical, guaranteed by the 3-ply cross-ply structure. It is an aesthetic choice, not a structural quality compromise.
How do I order drilling or laser engraving options?
These options are available on request — they do not appear in the online configurator. Contact the WoodUp customer service team with your plans and specifications before placing your order.
