Installation tips
Choose the size according to the width of your door: the 120 cm version for doors up to 90 cm, the 160 cm version for wider doors. The fixing wall must be load-bearing (concrete, brick, concrete block) – check its strength before drilling.
The weight of 11 to 14 kg requires robust fixings. Two people are recommended for installation. Ensure the gutter is correctly adjusted for optimal drainage.
Maintenance and protection
The anodised aluminium structure requires no treatment after installation. An annual clean with clear water and mild soap is sufficient to preserve its appearance. Avoid abrasive or chemical products on the lacquer.
The acrylic panel should be cleaned with a soft damp cloth only – avoid direct pressure washing and abrasive sponges which easily scratch the surface. For light scratches, a plastic polish can reduce their appearance. Acrylic is more susceptible to impact than polycarbonate – take this into account depending on exposure to branches or hail.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the BAUZON canopy with acrylic panel and the LUSETTE canopy?
The BAUZON has a straight inclined profile and is available in 3 colours (white, graphite grey, light grey), with a 4 mm acrylic panel. The LUSETTE has a curved arc shape and is available in 3 colours including RAL grey, also with a 4 mm acrylic panel. The BAUZON is larger (120 or 160 cm) whilst the LUSETTE is available in 158 and 180 cm. Choose according to the desired shape and the size of your door.
Is the acrylic panel more fragile than polycarbonate?
Yes, acrylic is more susceptible to impact than cellular polycarbonate. In the event of heavy hail or accidental impact (tree branch), acrylic can crack, whereas cellular polycarbonate is virtually unbreakable. In return, acrylic is optically clearer and does not yellow as quickly as polycarbonate. For areas at risk of hail or impacts, polycarbonate is preferable.
Is a load-bearing wall required to install the 14 kg BAUZON canopy?
Yes, a solid load-bearing wall is essential for a 14 kg canopy (160 cm version). Use wall plugs suited to the wall material and the load to be supported, taking into account the tipping moment created by the 90 cm depth. On hollow concrete blocks, special injection anchors are recommended.
How do I choose between white, graphite grey and light grey?
White is the most versatile and suits all light-coloured facades. Graphite grey (dark) suits modern facades or anthracite-coloured joinery. Light grey is an intermediate option that complements grey stone facades or light render. Compare the colours with the shade of your facade and joinery before ordering.
Is the BAUZON gutter easy to maintain?
Yes, the integrated gutter requires annual cleaning to prevent blockages from leaves and debris. Remove deposits by hand or with a small soft tool, then rinse with clean water. At the same time, check that the water outlets are not blocked to ensure optimal drainage.
