Assemble the shelf on a flat surface following the included instructions. Place on a stable, level surface to prevent tipping. Distribute pots evenly across the 4 shelves, placing the heaviest ones on the lower levels to lower the centre of gravity. Apply a stain or exterior wood oil to all surfaces before placing the first plants outdoors. For wind-exposed balconies, fix the shelf to the wall with brackets (not supplied).
Untreated pine gradually turns grey outdoors without protection. Apply an exterior wood stain or oil before installation and renew every 2 years. Clean the shelves with a damp cloth after each repotting. Check the tightness of the screws on the intermediate shelves annually.
The 21 cm depth accommodates pots with a diameter of less than 20 cm. Slightly wider pots can be placed on the shelf if they are round and stable, but will overhang the edge slightly.
