Installation tips

Check compatibility with your MORENO or SUCHET staircase before ordering. Start by fixing the bottom and top newel posts to the stair treads or floor as instructed. Then position the bottom rail and space the 17 balusters evenly between the posts. Finish with the handrail.

Apply your chosen finish before final installation so that recessed sections are treated too. The handrail needs an abrasion-resistant finish (2 coats of floor varnish recommended).

Care and protection

The wood is supplied unfinished and untreated. Apply a protective finish before heavy use – satin floor varnish (2 coats), hardwax oil or polyurethane varnish, depending on the look you want. The handrail, which is touched frequently, particularly benefits from an abrasion-resistant floor varnish.

Annual care with a product suited to your chosen finish is enough to maintain the wood’s appearance. Avoid abrasive products and solvent-based cleaners, which damage finishes.

The spacing between balusters must be less than 11 cm to prevent an 11 cm sphere from passing through (NF P01-012 standard). With 17 balusters over 3900 mm, check their actual positioning against your staircase. If your MORENO or SUCHET staircase has a different stairwell opening, adjust the spacing accordingly before final installation.

Can PENDEDIS be installed on both sides of the MORENO staircase?
