The FAVARDY canopy is a door canopy in aluminium profile and 4.5 mm cellular polycarbonate, available in 3 colours: white, black and brown. Its dimensions of 120 x 90 x 38 cm effectively protect a standard front door, with fixing centres of 80 cm and an integrated gutter for water drainage.

Its straight, clean design suits all façade styles. The lightweight aluminium structure is weather resistant and requires no particular maintenance. Screws and fixings are included in the kit.

Installation advice

Check that the fixing wall is load-bearing and in good condition before drilling. The 80 cm fixing centres must be measured precisely above the door. Use wall plugs suitable for the wall material. Two people are recommended for installation.

Ensure a slight forward tilt to encourage water flow towards the gutter. Check regularly that the gutter is not blocked by leaves or debris.

Maintenance and protection

Anodised or powder-coated aluminium requires no special treatment after installation. Cleaning once or twice a year with clean water and mild soap is sufficient to maintain the appearance of the structure. Avoid abrasive or solvent-based products that could scratch the lacquer or anodised coating.

Cellular polycarbonate can be cleaned with a soft damp cloth or a non-abrasive sponge. Avoid using a pressure washer directly on the panel so as not to damage the seals. For limescale deposits, use diluted white vinegar. The panel is UV resistant but may slightly yellow after 10 to 15 years of direct exposure — this is normal and does not affect its mechanical properties.

What is the difference between the FAVARDY canopy and the DURBIZE canopy?

The FAVARDY (120 x 90 cm) is narrower than the DURBIZE (158 x 90 cm) and available in 3 colours including brown. The DURBIZE has a more curved arched shape, whereas the FAVARDY is straighter and more compact. For a narrow door or a space with limited width, the FAVARDY is more suitable.

Is the FAVARDY canopy suitable for a door wider than 90 cm?

The FAVARDY, at 120 cm wide, overhangs approximately 15 cm on each side of a 90 cm door — which is sufficient for standard protection. For a wider door (up to 140 cm), the DURBIZE canopy (158 cm) is preferable as it offers a greater lateral overhang.

Is a load-bearing wall required to install the FAVARDY canopy?

Yes, the fixing wall must be load-bearing and in good condition: concrete, solid brick or breeze block. Never fix a canopy to insulation, plaster alone or lightweight cladding without checking the structural resistance of the support. The supplied wall plugs are generic — adapt them according to your wall type.

Can the colour of the FAVARDY polycarbonate panel be changed?

How do I clean the FAVARDY canopy without damaging it?
