The AUBRAC 330 is the tallest loft ladder in our range: it reaches ceiling heights of up to 330 cm. Its wooden ladder is 40 cm wide and has 15 treads.

The casing comes in 130 x 60, 130 x 70, 140 x 60 or 140 x 70 cm sizes. The 26 mm hatch, containing 20 mm of insulation, helps limit draughts. The handrail is supplied.

Choosing the right loft ladder

Above 310 cm, standard loft ladders are no longer sufficient. The AUBRAC 330 suits older homes and rooms with ceiling heights of up to 3.30 m.

It requires a casing at least 130 cm long, 145 cm of floor space and 205 cm of opening clearance. Its 26 mm hatch provides limited insulation: improve the insulation around the casing if the loft is cold.

Installation advice

Ceiling opening: prepare an opening to fit the chosen casing, allowing approximately 5 mm of clearance all around. Check that there is at least 135 mm of clear height above the ceiling to accommodate the casing.

Fixing: secure the casing to the floor structure (joists and trimmer joists) using screws suitable for the material, following the instructions. Check that it is square before fully tightening: a twisted casing will prevent the hatch from closing properly.

Adjustment: unfold the ladder, measure the ceiling height and trim the final section so it rests flat on the floor. Fit the handrail. Finally, join the loft insulation around the casing to avoid thermal bridges.

Care and protection

Once a year, check that the screws are tight, inspect the joints between ladder sections and make sure the hatch opening mechanism works properly. Lubricate the mechanisms if opening becomes stiff, and dust the treads.

The hatch can be painted to match the ceiling. Take care not to block the seal between the hatch and casing, which provides the airtight seal.
