OCEANE Single-Slope Letterbox Roof in Zinc and Fir
OCEANE single-slope letterbox roof with a zinc covering and a frame of solid untreated fir.
Its single slope directs water to one side of the letterbox. Suitable for standard flat-topped letterboxes 302 mm wide and 410 mm deep. The watertight zinc covering requires no maintenance.
No-drill installation: glue it to the top of the letterbox. The fir components are supplied untreated and must be protected with an exterior wood stain before installation.
Single-slope zinc and fir letterbox canopy
The OCEANE single-slope roof forms a small canopy over a letterbox. Its zinc covering sits on a frame of solid untreated fir.
It fits standard-sized letterboxes measuring W 302 x H 300 x D 410 mm and is glued to the top of the box, without drilling. Its single slope directs rainwater to one side.
The zinc needs no treatment. The fir, however, is supplied untreated: protect it with an exterior wood stain before installation.

Single slope or dual slope?
The single-slope model directs all the water to one side. Check that this side does not face a walkway, door or doorbell button. If there are walkways on both sides of the letterbox, the dual-slope version directs water to the left and right.
The letterbox must have a flat top and be a standard size of 302 mm wide and 410 mm deep. A letterbox recessed into a low wall or with a curved top is not suitable.
Installation advice
Before installation: apply an exterior wood stain or wood saturator to the fir components and allow to dry.
Gluing: clean and degrease the top of the letterbox. Apply an exterior mounting adhesive compatible with the letterbox material, then centre the roof and hold it in place for the drying time specified by the adhesive manufacturer.
Care and protection
The zinc covering requires no maintenance. Over time, it develops a matt grey colour without affecting its watertightness. Reapply wood stain to the fir as soon as the wood starts to grey or the finish begins to flake.

Both have a zinc covering and a fir frame. The single-slope version directs water to one side. The dual-slope version directs it to both sides and has a birdhouse built into its gable.
Does a roof protect post from the rain?
The roof protects the top of the letterbox and reduces the amount of water running down the door and letter slot. How watertight the letterbox itself is depends on its design: the roof is no substitute for seals in good condition.
