Installation tips

Before ordering — essential measurements: Record your exact floor height (finished floor bottom to finished floor top) in mm and your ceiling opening (length × depth) in mm. Verify that the opening falls between the minimum 1010 × 570 mm and maximum 1550 × 840 mm. Also measure the available width at the foot of the staircase (minimum 2 m² for reception and assembly).

Tread height determination: Your exact floor height determines the optimal number of treads (9–13) and the corresponding tread height (190–235 mm). Example: to cover 2650 mm in 13 treads, the tread height will be approximately 204 mm. When ordering, provide your exact height, and the service team will confirm feasibility and the optimal configuration.

On-site tread cutting: Luna arrives with full-width treads (maximum width 1470 mm). Measure your exact ceiling opening, then cut the treads to the desired width (930–1470 mm) using a circular saw and carbide blade. The integrated metal runners absorb the cut without weakening the tread. Deburr the edges after cutting (120-grit abrasive paper). Important: a clean, even cut = a stable and safe bearing surface.

Site preparation: The floor support must be level, stable and capable of bearing the load of the central column (minimum structural support: concrete/screed/robust flooring). The ceiling requires a solid fixing point. A minimum of 2 m² of access around the base is needed for the modules. Clean the area and locate the exact centre of the stairwell opening.

Assembly: The staircase arrives pre-assembled in modules. Main steps: (1) position the central column vertically (precision level < 2 mm), (2) stack the cut treads, (3) fix the column to the floor/ceiling (2-point support mandatory), (4) install balusters and handrail according to the supplied diagram. Maintenance and protection

Powder-coated steel — column and balusters: Wipe monthly with a dry cloth. In humid or coastal environments, a slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Check annually for any powder flaking exposing bare steel (a sign of possible corrosion). In the event of a deep scratch, powder-coated steel touch-up is possible (on quote).
