RONDO SMART Metal Spiral Staircase

The RONDO SMART spiral staircase is an all-steel metal model whose structure recalls industrial outdoor staircases. The treads, column, balusters and guardrail are made entirely of powder-coated steel, with a PVC handrail in the same colour. The result is a consistent look from bottom to top, with no mix of materials.

Three colours are available: black for a striking contrast in the room, grey for a more neutral look, and white for an airy feel in light interiors. Unlike the RONDO COLOR, which comes only in anthracite, the RONDO SMART lets you choose a colour to suit your décor. The continuous Ø40 mm PVC handrail runs the full length of the staircase, from the first step to the upper floor.

Available in three diameters, 120, 140 or 160 cm, it fits ceiling openings of different sizes. The tread rise is adjustable between 190 and 235 mm across 13 positions (12 treads plus an upper landing), allowing the staircase to suit almost all standard residential floor-to-floor heights. For heights above 3055 mm, one or two extensions are available to order.

Installation advice

Measure your ceiling opening and exact floor-to-floor height (from finished lower floor to finished upper floor, in mm) before ordering. The minimum opening required is 1300 x 1300 mm for Ø120, 1500 x 1500 mm for Ø140 and 1700 x 1700 mm for Ø160. If your floor-to-floor height exceeds 3055 mm, specify this when ordering so that one or two extensions can be included (up to 3525 mm).

The floor surface must be level, stable and able to bear the concentrated loads from the central column. Anchoring at the ceiling is essential. Allow at least 2 m² of clear space at the base to receive and assemble the sections. Position the column vertically to within 2 mm, stack the treads, secure the staircase at both support points, then fit the PVC handrail. Estimated time: 4 to 6 hours with two people, depending on the diameter.

Care and protection

Wipe the treads and structure once a month with a dry cloth. In a humid environment, a slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Avoid abrasive products that could damage the powder coating. Clean the PVC handrail with mild, non-abrasive soapy water and check that its fixings are secure once a year. With regular care, this staircase retains its structural properties and appearance for at least 15 to 20 years in indoor residential use.
