What is a custom wood board?

Characteristics of a custom wood board

The two main types of custom wood boards are glulam and three-ply. The first consists of wood strips glued together along the long side (non-finger-jointed wood). The second comprises three layers of wood cold-glued together. The two outer wood layers have a thickness of 5 to 5.5 mm. These boards are available in various dimensions and thicknesses. Their edges are straight and their surface is planed. They are made of softwood or hardwood.

It is a matter of choosing the right wood species. Beech and ash are light-coloured woods. Oak has a honey colouration, and walnut is darker.
