Installation advice

First install the support posts 200 cm apart, centre to centre, anchored at least 40 cm into the ground for a 60 cm-high fence. Assemble the panel by fixing the boards to the rails. Screw the assembled panel to the posts. On soft ground, use concrete footings or post anchors to secure the posts firmly. Apply an exterior oil annually to preserve the natural colour of the Douglas fir.

Care and protection

Douglas fir turns grey outdoors over 6 to 12 months. This greying is normal and does not affect the wood’s strength. To maintain its pinkish-brown colour, apply an exterior oil or stain suitable for Douglas fir once a year. The supplied screws should be stainless steel to prevent rust marks. Check the base of the posts annually.
