Installation tips

First set the supporting posts spaced 200 cm apart (centre to centre), anchored at a minimum of 40 cm into the ground for a fence height of 60 cm. Assemble the panel by fixing the boards onto the rails. Screw the assembled panel onto the posts. On soft ground, use concrete pads or anchor brackets for optimal post stability. Apply an annual exterior oil to preserve the natural colour of the Douglas fir.

Maintenance and protection

Douglas fir turns grey outdoors in 6 to 12 months — this greying is normal and does not affect the strength of the wood. To maintain the pinkish-brown colour, apply a Douglas fir exterior oil or wood stain once a year. The screws provided must be stainless steel to avoid rust marks. Check the posts annually at their base.
