Installation advice

For a height of 95 cm, anchor the support posts at least 50 cm into the ground to ensure stability. Space the posts 200 cm apart, centre to centre. Assemble the panel by fixing the boards to the two rails with the screws provided, then fix the panel to the posts. Allow for 3 rails (bottom, middle and top) for 95 cm panels exposed to wind. Apply a Douglas fir oil in spring to maintain the colour.

Care and protection

Douglas fir from the Massif Central gradually turns grey over 6 to 12 months. This natural greying does not affect its structural strength. To retain its pinkish-brown colour, apply an exterior oil or stain annually. Check the base of the posts each spring.

Before you buy: this 95 cm-high kit includes boards, rails and screws, but not posts. Naturally durable class 3 Douglas fir does not require chemical treatment provided it is not in direct contact with the ground. Leave a gap between the bottom of the panel and the soil to limit moisture absorption.

Only the height differs: the 95 cm kit is 35 cm taller and provides greater visual separation. The materials, contents and length (200 cm) are identical. Choose according to the height you want for your boundary.

Is this Douglas fir kit suitable for a coastal area or a damp climate?

Yes, provided it is maintained regularly. Class 3 Douglas fir withstands moisture well. In coastal areas with high salt exposure, apply an exterior oil twice a year to counter the harsher conditions.

Can several kits be joined to make a 10-metre fence?

Yes. Each kit covers 200 cm. For 10 metres, allow for 5 kits and 6 posts (one at each end and one between each panel). Carefully align the rails from one panel to the next.

Are the screws supplied sufficient for a 200 cm panel?
