Installation advice
For a 150 cm fence, allow for 3 rails (bottom at 10 cm, middle at 70 cm and top at 140 cm). Pre-drill each board 2 cm from the edge to prevent splitting. Use 4x50 mm stainless-steel screws for a durable fixing. Apply treatment to every face before installation, paying particular attention to the end grain.
Spacing between boards: a solid gate acts like a sail in the wind, placing considerable strain on its hinges and posts. A gap of 15 to 20 mm between boards significantly reduces this strain and is recommended for wide gates and windy locations. A 10 mm gap gives an almost fully private finish.
