Plywood Garden Table - Cold Meals and Light Objects, Matching Range
This plywood table is designed for indoor and outdoor use: terrace, garden, veranda or living room. It is intended for light objects and cold meals only — it is not designed to support heavy loads, hot meals placed directly on it, or kitchen equipment. Installation advice
Before outdoor use, apply an exterior microporous stain or paint to the entire table, faces and edges. Avoid placing hot objects directly on the surface — use table mats or trivets. Spilt liquids should be wiped up quickly to prevent them from penetrating the wood. Clean the table with mild soapy water using a damp cloth.
Care and protection
Bring the table indoors to a covered, dry space in autumn. Renew the finish every 2 to 3 years. If the surface becomes permanently stained, sand lightly with 180-grit paper and reapply a coat of finish. Avoid abrasive cleaners that damage the plywood surface.
Frequently asked questions
Why is this table limited to cold meals?
Plywood is sensitive to direct heat, which can cause the layers to warp or peel. Plates or dishes taken straight from the oven or microwave must not be placed directly on the surface without a trivet.
Can this table be left outside in the rain?
Occasionally yes, if it has been treated. For continuous exposure to rain, bring the table in or cover it. Standing water on an unprotected surface accelerates delamination of the plywood.
What are the exact dimensions of this table?
The table measures 47.5 x 70 x 40 cm (width x length x height). Its height of 40 cm makes it a coffee table, suited to garden lounge use rather than dining. Best used on a sheltered terrace — plywood does not cope well with prolonged exposure to the elements without regularly renewed protective finish.
Is this table suitable for use in a flat (balcony)?
Yes. Its light weight and compact size make it a suitable choice for small balconies. Make sure the balcony is sufficiently covered to limit direct exposure to rain.
Can this table be repainted in a bright colour?
Yes. The plywood accepts all acrylic paints. Sand with 150-grit paper, apply a wood primer, then your topcoat in two layers with full drying time between coats.
