2-Leaf Kit Gate in Wood – Fir, Pine or Douglas Fir, Height 120 cm, 3 to 4 m
This 2-leaf kit gate is available in three species: Fir, Pine (section 80×20 mm) and Douglas fir (section 91×21 mm), in 3 lengths: 300, 350 or 400 cm for a height of 120 cm. The boards are bevelled across all species, allowing natural rainwater drainage. The installation hardware (hinges, bolt, handles) is not provided — it should be chosen according to the existing support and type of opening. Each gate is delivered in 2 separate packages (one per leaf).
Douglas fir is naturally durable in class 3 without mandatory treatment. Pine and Fir require a water-repellent treatment before installation outdoors. The fixing of the leaves onto the supporting posts is the responsibility of the installer.

Installation advice
Install the supporting posts first, anchoring them at least 50 cm into the ground (setting concrete recommended). The spacing between posts must correspond exactly to the chosen leaf length. Fix the rails onto the bevelled boards by pre-drilling to avoid splitting. Fit the hinges on the posts before hanging the leaves. Apply a water-repellent treatment to Pine and Fir before installation. Douglas fir can be installed untreated but an annual exterior oil extends its lifespan.
Maintenance and protection
Douglas fir: natural greying in 6–12 months, annual exterior oil to maintain the colour. Pine and Fir: stain or water-repellent saturator to be renewed every 2 to 3 years. Check the tightness of the hinges and the flatness of the leaves each spring. On areas in contact with the ground or posts, apply an end-grain protection product.
Frequently asked questions
Which species to choose between Fir, Pine and Douglas fir for an outdoor gate?
Douglas fir is the most naturally durable (class 3) and requires no mandatory treatment. Pine offers a good resistance/cost compromise with treatment. Fir is the economical option but requires more regular maintenance in humid conditions.
Are the posts included in this kit?
No. The supporting posts must be planned separately according to your layout. Choose treated wood posts (class 4) or metal posts for parts buried in or in contact with the ground.
Can a single-leaf gate be ordered with this kit?
This product is sold as a 2-leaf kit. For a single-leaf pedestrian gate, see the 100×120 cm pedestrian gates in the range.
Is the hardware (hinges, bolt) suitable for this gate?
Hardware is not provided. Choose adjustable stainless steel or galvanised steel hinges capable of supporting the weight of a leaf of 15 to 25 kg depending on the species and length. Prefer a flush bolt for a neat closure on the central rail.
Can this gate be motorised?
Yes, provided the posts and hinges are adapted to the chosen gear motor. Consult an electrician or specialist installer for compatibility before ordering the motor.
