Installation tips
Begin by anchoring the post in the ground or fixing it to the wall according to your configuration. Position the rails horizontally on the post, assembling them with the provided brackets. Then fix the boards vertically onto the rails, starting from the ends. Pre-drill each board before screwing to avoid splitting the fir. Apply water-repellent treatment to all faces and edges before installation. For multiple modules, repeat the process, carefully aligning the rails from one module to the next.
Maintenance and protection
Untreated fir deteriorates quickly in humid conditions without protection. Apply an exterior wood stain or saturator before first use. Reapply every 2 to 3 years, paying particular attention to the lower ends of the boards and the areas in contact with the rails. Check the tightness of the 22 screws and the condition of the post at its base annually.
WoodUp Tip
What to know before buying: this kit includes the boards, rails, 1 post and screws (22 screws and 2 brackets). Only one post is supplied: for a continuous fence across several modules, allow one additional post per 180 cm module. The included screws (3.5x35 mm) cover panel assembly, not fixing the post to the ground — allow for fixings suitable for your substrate (concrete, soil). Water-repellent treatment is mandatory before installation, as untreated fir is sensitive to prolonged moisture.
Frequently asked questions
How many kits are needed for a 10-metre fence?
Each kit covers 180 cm. For 10 metres, you therefore need 6 kits (6 x 1.80 m, i.e. 10.80 m). Adjust according to the exact length required — allow 1 additional kit if adjustment is needed.
Is the post supplied sufficient to support a 180 cm section?
One post is included per kit for use as an independent module. For a continuous fence across several modules, the kits join together and share posts at the junctions — allow one post per kit plus one final post.
Which height to choose: 60 cm or 95 cm?
The 60 cm height defines a space (vegetable patch, flower bed) without blocking the view. The 95 cm height provides a more pronounced visual separation to mark out a garden area or contain small pets.
Are the screws supplied in the kit rust-resistant?
The screws provided are galvanised, suitable for standard outdoor use. For long-term exposure in humid environments (coastal areas, frequently rainy regions), you can increase resistance by using A2 stainless steel screws to fix the posts. The galvanised screws cover panel assembly — allow for additional screws to fix onto existing posts.
Is this kit suitable for slightly sloped ground?
Yes. On sloped ground, offset each module slightly according to the slope or adjust the post anchoring height. Stepped installation on a slope requires cutting the boards to different lengths to remain horizontal.
