This kit wicket gate is made from natural untreated Douglas fir, dimensions 120x100 cm (H x W), section 150x24 mm. It includes 6 straight boards, 3 rails and 108 stainless steel screws. Delivered in 1 parcel of 1200x150x220 mm. Assembled leaf weight: 25 kg. The straight board profile offers a clean, understated look suited to any contemporary or traditional garden style. Fixing hardware is to be provided separately. The 150x24 mm section provides superior rigidity compared to 91x21 mm wicket gates.

Installation advice
Assemble the wicket gate on a flat surface. Start with the 3 rails (bottom, middle, top), then fix the 6 boards with the 108 stainless steel screws provided, pre-drilling first. A diagonal brace (not included) is recommended for windy exposures or high-traffic use. The hardware requires hinges capable of supporting a minimum of 30 kg. Apply Douglas oil before installation to preserve the colour.
Maintenance and protection
Same maintenance as the moulded-board model: annual exterior oil to maintain the colour, spring check of screws and alignment. Douglas fir greys in 6 to 12 months with no loss of mechanical strength.

Does this kit include the fixing posts?
No. The load-bearing posts are to be provided separately. For a 25 kg wicket gate, choose posts with a minimum 10x10 cm section or concrete-set metal posts for optimum stability.
Can this wicket gate be painted in colour after assembly?
Yes. Raw Douglas fir accepts all microporous exterior paints. Apply a wood primer before the topcoat. Preferably paint the boards before assembly to easily access the inner faces.
