Installation advice
Assemble the pedestrian gate on a flat surface. Start with the 3 cross rails (bottom, middle and top), then pre-drill and attach the 6 slats using the 108 stainless steel screws supplied. A diagonal brace (not included) is recommended for windy locations or heavy use. The hinges must be able to support at least 30 kg. Apply a Douglas fir oil before installation to retain the colour.
Care and protection
Care is the same as for the profiled-slat model: apply outdoor oil annually to maintain the colour, and check the screws and alignment each spring. Douglas fir turns grey within 6 to 12 months without losing mechanical strength.

Before you buy: this straight-slat pedestrian gate does not include fixing posts. These must be purchased separately to suit your installation, whether timber, metal or masonry posts. The 150x24 mm slats are wider than standard fence slats (91x21 mm), giving a more substantial appearance. Natural Douglas fir can be left unfinished, in which case it will gradually turn grey, or oiled to retain its original colour for longer.
