Installation advice
Assemble the pedestrian gate on a flat surface. Fix the 3 crosspieces first, then attach the 6 moulded boards with the supplied stainless steel screws, pre-drilling the holes. The diagonal brace is not included in this kit – add a diagonal piece of timber if the gate leaf will be used intensively to help prevent warping. Install fittings (heavy-duty adjustable hinges) capable of supporting the weight of the finished gate leaf (approximately 25 to 30 kg). Apply Douglas fir oil before installation to preserve the colour.
Care and protection
Douglas fir turns grey in 6 to 12 months without losing strength. Apply Douglas fir outdoor oil once a year to preserve its colour. Check that the crosspiece screws are tight and the pedestrian gate is aligned each spring. The stainless steel screws require no special maintenance.

The moulded boards give a more detailed finish than straight boards (ID 1233), with profiles that need aligning during assembly. Untreated Douglas fir can be treated with outdoor oil as soon as it is installed; without treatment, it naturally turns grey over a few months without losing its mechanical properties.

What fittings are needed for this 25 kg pedestrian gate?
Allow for adjustable hinges rated to support at least 30 kg (the assembled gate leaf weighs 25 kg), with 2 hinges per leaf, plus a latch or bolt depending on use and a pull handle. Choose stainless steel or galvanised steel fittings.
Can this pedestrian gate be automated?
Yes. A suitable electric actuator is an option for a 100 cm single-leaf pedestrian gate. At 25 kg, its weight is within the standard range for gate automation. Consult an installer to check compatibility.
Are the moulded boards visible on both sides?
The moulded profile is generally on one side only (the front). On the inside, the boards have a flat profile. Check this when ordering if the appearance of both sides matters for your installation.

No. This kit contains only the 6 boards, 3 crosspieces and 108 stainless steel screws. For very frequent use or windy locations, add a diagonal piece of timber from corner to corner.
