200x100 Raised Bed Extension Kit, No Nails No Screws - Douglas Fir 27 mm, +10 cm
This extension kit is designed to increase the height of the 200x100 nail-free, screw-free raised bed by 10 cm. Made from French Douglas fir 27 mm, it slots together without tools, just like the base module. Two kits allow you to reach 40 cm total depth. Key points
- ✓ +10 cm per kit: extended depth for root vegetables or tomatoes

- ✓ No tools: installation in just a few minutes
- ✓ Douglas fir 27 mm: same thickness and species as the base module
- ✓ Dismantlable: easy winter storage
Installation tips
Slot the extension boards onto the base module before filling it definitively. Over 200 cm in length, add a central support under the long crossbar of the extension to prevent deflection under load. Fill in progressive layers, tamping lightly between each level.
Maintenance and protection
Same maintenance as the base module: annual outdoor oil in spring, easy disassembly for winter storage. The greying of Douglas fir is normal and does not affect the wood's resistance.
Frequently asked questions
Can this extension be added to an already-filled 200x100 raised bed?
Yes, by removing a few centimetres of soil from the edges to free the notches. Ideally, add the extension before the final filling.
Is this extension compatible with the 100x100 module?
No. The 200x100 and 100x100 extensions have different notches. Use only the extensions corresponding to your base module.
How many extensions can be stacked on the 200x100?
A maximum of two extensions can be stacked to reach 40 cm total height. Beyond that, lateral pressure may warp the boards along the 200 cm length.
Does the extension kit include fixings?
No. The system uses no nails or screws — no fixings are supplied or required. Assembly relies solely on the interlocking notches.
What depth is needed to grow potatoes?
Potatoes require 30 to 40 cm of hilling depth. With the base (20 cm) and two extensions (20 cm), you reach the recommended 40 cm for a good harvest.
