Beech Fruit and Vegetable Rack 119cm – 4 Removable Shelves and 6 Sliding Drawers
This fruit and vegetable rack in solid beech is the most comprehensive storage unit in the WoodUp range. With its 119 cm height and two distinct storage zones — 4 removable shelves for loose fruit and vegetables and 6 sliding drawers for provisions — it allows a wide variety of products to be organised and stored under the same conditions. The door with aluminium anti-insect mesh provides protection while maintaining essential air circulation.
The distance between two shelves is 11.5 cm and between two drawers 10.8 cm — sufficient for storing whole fruit, everyday-sized vegetables, and portions of cheese or charcuterie.

Recommended organisation
Shelf section (upper part): whole fruit, slow-ripening vegetables (tomatoes, avocado, squash), baskets of dried fruit. The 11.5 cm spacing allows apples, pears or small squash to be placed on the shelves. The shelves are removable — take one out to store large vegetables (leeks, celery sticks).
Drawer section (lower part): individual cheeses, charcuterie portions, opened preserves, loose spices. The sliding drawers make access easy without disturbing the contents of the upper shelves.
Storage tips
Place the fruit and vegetable rack in a cool, well-ventilated spot, away from direct heat. Do not store together products that affect one another: apples and potatoes, onions and cheeses, very ripe fruit and delicate vegetables. Clean the shelves and drawers every 2 weeks to remove residue and inspect the produce.
Care
Wipe the sides, shelves and drawers with a damp cloth. The aluminium mesh can be cleaned with soapy water using a soft brush. For stains from acidic fruit or cheese on the beech, rub with a halved lemon then wipe dry. Annual oiling with sunflower or food-grade linseed oil is recommended to keep the wood hydrated.
WoodUp Tip
To make the most of the 4 removable shelves, organise by frequency of use: products consumed daily (seasonal fruit) at eye level at the top, less frequently used provisions (preserves, maturing cheeses) in the lower drawers. A clean tea towel placed on each shelf absorbs residual moisture and makes weekly cleaning easier.
Good to know before buying: the unit is delivered assembled or as a kit depending on the order — check at the time of ordering. The sliding drawers require careful handling on first use to adjust the glide. If sliding is difficult, rub the runners with a piece of wax candle.
Frequently asked questions
Can the sliding drawers be removed for cleaning?
Yes. The sliding drawers can be removed entirely from the unit — simply pull them out to the stop then lift them slightly to disengage from the rails. Clean with soapy water and leave to dry before replacing.
What is the maximum load each shelf can support?
Figure to be confirmed according to product specifications. As a guide, avoid exceeding 5 to 8 kg per shelf for standard solid beech with a 39cm spacing — beyond this, the shelf may flex slightly. Contact WoodUp for confirmation if you plan to store heavy loads.
Can this unit be used in a cellar or pantry?
Yes, in a ventilated cellar with a relative humidity below 70%. For a more humid cellar, apply a coat of linseed oil to all beech surfaces before use to limit moisture absorption by the wood.
Can additional shelves be ordered separately?
Contact WoodUp directly for the availability of replacement or additional shelves for this model.
What is the difference from the single-door beech larder?
The fruit and vegetable rack is a large-capacity unit with 2 distinct zones (shelves + drawers) — designed to organise large volumes of varied provisions. The beech larder is more compact and portable, with 2 hinged doors — suited to everyday kitchen or pantry use.
