This solid beech fruit and vegetable cabinet is the most comprehensive storage piece in the WoodUp range. With its 119 cm height and two distinct storage zones — 4 removable shelves for loose fruits and vegetables and 6 sliding drawers for provisions — it allows a wide variety of produce to be organised and stored under the same conditions. The door with aluminium anti-insect mesh provides protection whilst maintaining the essential air circulation.

The distance between two shelves is 11.5 cm and between two drawers 10.8 cm — sufficient to store whole fruits, standard-sized vegetables and portions of cheese or charcuterie.

Recommended organisation

Shelf section (upper part): whole fruits, slow-ripening vegetables (tomatoes, avocado, squashes), baskets of dried fruits. The 11.5 cm spacing allows apples, pears or small squashes to be placed on the shelves. The shelves are removable — remove one to store large vegetables (leeks, celery stalks).

Drawer section (lower part): individual cheeses, portions of charcuterie, opened preserves, loose spices. The sliding drawers provide easy access without disturbing the contents of the upper rows.

Storage tips

Place the fruit and vegetable cabinet in a cool, well-ventilated spot, away from direct heat. Do not store together products that influence each other: apples and potatoes, onions and cheeses, very ripe fruits and delicate vegetables. Clean the shelves and drawers every 2 weeks to remove residue and inspect the produce.

Maintenance

Wipe the sides, shelves and drawers with a damp cloth. The aluminium mesh can be cleaned with soapy water using a soft brush. For stains from acidic fruits or cheese on the beech, rub with half a lemon then wipe dry. Annual oiling with sunflower or food-grade linseed oil is recommended to keep the wood hydrated.

To make the most of the 4 removable shelves, organise by frequency of use: products consumed daily (seasonal fruits) at the top at eye level, less frequently used provisions (preserves, aged cheeses) in the lower drawers. A clean tea towel placed on each shelf absorbs residual moisture and makes weekly cleaning easier.

Please note before purchasing: the piece of furniture is delivered assembled or as a kit depending on the order — check at the time of ordering. The sliding drawers require careful handling when first used to adjust the sliding action. If sliding is difficult, rub the runners with a piece of wax candle.

Yes. The sliding drawers can be removed entirely from the cabinet — simply pull them out to the stop and then lift them slightly to disengage them from the runners. Clean with soapy water and leave to dry before replacing.
