Installation advice

1. Measure the floor-to-floor height and available clearance precisely.
2. Position the stringers and adjust their length if necessary (trim at the top or bottom).
3. Fix the metal pivots into the stringers according to the supplied plan.
4. Adjust each pivot individually to keep the treads perfectly horizontal.
5. If the slope is steeper (reduced clearance), trim the stringers and remove one or two treads if necessary.
6. Anchor the staircase securely to the floor and upper level using fixings appropriate to the support.

How the pivot system works

The AULAC staircase is designed with a system of metal pivots fixed into the stringers. This principle allows the staircase incline to be adapted to the configuration of the space.

• If the slope is shallower (lower floor-to-floor height or greater clearance), the treads remain horizontal thanks to individual pivot adjustment, without trimming the stringers.
• If the slope is steeper (insufficient clearance), the stringers can be trimmed to adjust the length. It is also possible to remove one or two treads depending on the available height.
