Lightweight wooden fir porch canopy for door and window – CAMPVIEL kit
The CAMPVIEL porch canopy is a raw fir canopy kit designed for lightweight applications: protection of a standard-sized entrance door or a window ledge. Its depth of 37 cm – shallower than large-depth models – makes it suited to façades where the overhang is limited or to entrances that are already partially sheltered. Two lengths are available: 150 and 180 cm.
The brackets are assembled and glued in the factory – they require no on-site assembly, unlike kits with separate brackets. The kit is delivered with the rafters, purlins, and assembly screws. Roof covering and wall fixing plugs are to be sourced separately.

Installation advice
As the brackets are already assembled and glued, installation is reduced to wall fixing and fitting the rafters onto the purlins. Fix the brackets to the load-bearing wall with wall plugs suited to the substrate (not supplied). The 37 cm depth implies a short arm – bending stresses remain low, and standard 8 mm wall plugs are sufficient for most concrete or blockwork substrates.
Apply the protection (stain or saturator) to all faces before installation. Estimated assembly time: 1 to 2 hours with two people.
Maintenance and protection
Treatment is mandatory before installation: microporous wood stain or saturator in a minimum of two coats. Renew every 2 to 3 years. The shallow depth of 37 cm exposes the rafters more to lateral rain splashes – a good-quality stain is preferable to a simple saturator for this model.
Frequently asked questions
Is the 37 cm depth sufficient to protect an entrance door?
A depth of 37 cm provides partial protection against vertical rain and light splashes. This depth is suited to entrances that are already partially sheltered (porch, recess) or to south-facing façades where rain falls with little angle. For full protection in driving rain or on an exposed façade, models with a depth of 80 to 120 cm are more appropriate.
Can this model be used to protect a window?
Yes. The CAMPVIEL is suited to window sills and glazed doors. It protects the frame and glazing from direct rain and reduces streaking on the façade. The 150 cm length suits a standard double window, the 180 cm suits a wide window or a small glazed bay.
What roof covering can be used on the CAMPVIEL?
The lightweight structure (35x45 mm rafters) is suited to lightweight roof coverings: fibre cement slates, zinc, steel sheeting, or polycarbonate. For mechanical tiles or heavier natural slates, models with 45x30 mm or 70x40 mm rafters are more appropriate.
Are the brackets already assembled on delivery?
Yes. Unlike kits with separate brackets, the CAMPVIEL brackets are assembled and glued in the factory. You receive them ready to fix to the façade, with no intermediate assembly required. It only remains to fit the purlins and rafters onto the structure.
Can the CAMPVIEL be painted in the colour of the façade?
Yes. The wood is delivered raw. Paint, tinted stain, or saturator are all applicable. Apply before installation on all faces, including the assembly areas of the glued brackets.
Should I order the 150 or 180 cm version?
Choose a length greater than the width of the opening to be covered, with a 15 to 20 cm overhang on each side. For a 90 cm door, the 150 cm gives 30 cm of overhang on each side. For a 140 cm door or a double window, the 180 cm is more suitable.
