This raised bed kit is made from Douglas fir from the Massif Central, sourced from sustainably managed forests. It comes in three sizes: 60x60 cm (small), 120x60 cm (medium) and 120x120 cm (large), all 45 cm high. The supplied stainless-steel screws provide a durable outdoor assembly without the risk of rust stains on the wood. Douglas fir is naturally resistant to fungi and insects in use class 3, without requiring chemical treatment.

This raised bed works equally well in a garden, on a terrace or on a balcony. The 45 cm-high frame provides a generous growing space directly on the ground. The three sizes let you vary the growing area according to the space available and how much you want to grow.

Installation tips

Assemble the panels on a flat surface. Position the 4 sides and screw the corners together using the supplied stainless-steel screws, starting at the bottom corners to keep the sides upright. Place the raised bed on firm, clear ground. On gravel or paving, lay a geotextile membrane before filling to retain the soil. Fill with a mixture of topsoil and compost (60/40). The fill capacity is 162 litres for the 120x60 model and 324 litres for the 120x120 model.

Care and protection

Untreated Douglas fir turns grey outdoors within 6 to 12 months without affecting its structural properties. To retain its characteristic pinkish-brown colour, apply an exterior wood oil or wood stain once a year (April–May). The stainless-steel screws need no maintenance. At the end of the growing season, partially empty the raised bed if you live in an area with severe frosts to reduce stress on the joints.
