The MOLEDE is a staircase with a quarter-turn at the bottom made from laminated beech, supplied as a kit for on-site assembly. Its 90° change of direction is at the bottom of the flight, making it easier to fit into rectangular stairwell openings and leaving space beneath the first flight. Designed for a floor-to-floor height of 280 cm with 14 treads, it is 80 cm wide and has a recommended stairwell opening of 85x282 cm.

The rise is 20 cm and the going is 19 cm. The treads are 30 mm thick. The staircase can be cut down in height according to the supplied instructions to suit floor-to-floor heights below 280 cm. Available with or without risers, in a right- or left-hand version.

Installation advice

The direction of the quarter-turn (right or left) must be chosen before ordering, based on the room layout and the position of the stairwell opening. This choice cannot be changed after delivery. To determine it, stand at the foot of the staircase and identify which way you want to turn at the start of the ascent.

Check the stairwell opening (85x282 cm recommended) against the finished dimensions. Assemble the stringers, treads and risers according to the instructions, then secure the staircase to the floor and upper floor. The handrail can be fitted after the staircase is assembled. At least two people are needed to position the beech stringers.

Care and protection

Unfinished beech marks quickly without protection. Apply 2–3 coats of stair floor varnish before first use. Reapply every 5–7 years, depending on foot traffic. For routine cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth and a pH-neutral cleaner. Check the fixings for tightness annually.
