Position the handle on the door panel and mark the screw hole locations with a pencil before drilling. Use a drill bit suited to the material (wood for solid pine, MDF bit for panels) drilling at low speed to avoid splintering. On lacquered MDF panels, a careful pilot hole preserves the finish around the screw point. Tighten the screws gradually without over-tightening to avoid distorting the surface.
Wipe the chrome handle with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products and acid cleaners that can dull the chrome. To restore shine, a dry microfibre cloth is sufficient. Chrome may develop light limescale marks in hard water areas — wiping weekly prevents their formation.
