Installation advice
Allow 4 to 4.5 cm of clearance above the opening to fix the top rail. First fix the rail, then position the top and bottom pivots according to the template provided. Clip the door panels onto the pivots and check the alignment: the two panels must be parallel and meet without forcing in the centre. An assembly video is available on the Woodup website to guide installation step by step.
Maintenance and protection
Dust the louvred slats two to three times a year with a soft brush or a microfibre cloth. For the solid raw pine panel, a dry cloth is sufficient for everyday cleaning. If the door has been painted or varnished, cleaning with mild soapy water (neutral pH) is suitable. Avoid abrasive products that could scratch the finish. As solid pine is a living wood, the shade of the solid panel and that of the louvred slats may differ slightly: an opaque paint will fully unify the appearance, whereas a stain or transparent varnish will allow this natural variation to show. If the pivots creak, a light wax lubrication is sufficient to restore smooth movement.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a louvred door and a half-louvred door?
The louvred door Folding louvred door is fully louvred across its entire height. The half-louvred door Folding half-louvred door has a solid upper section and a lower section with louvred slats. The half-louvred door offers greater visual privacy while maintaining good air circulation.
Can these doors be installed in a utility room?
Yes, provided the room is properly ventilated. These doors are not suitable for spaces exposed to permanent humidity without air extraction.
Why does the shade of the solid panel sometimes differ from that of the louvred slats?
Solid pine is a natural material whose shade and grain vary according to the cut and growth of each board. On a half-louvred panel, the solid section and the louvred slats may therefore show slight shade differences, which does not constitute a manufacturing defect. An opaque paint makes it possible to achieve a perfectly uniform finish.
Can the door be trimmed to fit a lower height?
No, this model cannot be trimmed. For an opening of a different height, please see the trimmable doors in the range (Trimmable natural pine door in natural pine, Trimmable white lacquered door in white lacquer).
How long does installation take?
A person with standard tools (drill, spirit level, screws) can install these doors in 30 to 60 minutes. As the hinges are pre-fitted and the hardware supplied, no complex preparation is required. The Woodup assembly video details each step.
Do these doors fit a wardrobe without an existing frame?
Yes, provided there is a flat surface at the top of the opening to fix the rail (4 to 4.5 cm clearance). For a neat finish with a visible surround, pair these doors with the Woodup pine battens Wardrobe door frame batten.
