Installation tips

Measure your opening carefully before trimming. Use a fine-toothed circular saw for a clean cut through the solid pine. Sand the cut edges with 120-grit sandpaper before applying a protective finish. Fit the door with at least 3 hinges spaced along its height: one at the top, one at the bottom and one in the centre. Care and protection

Apply a protective finish (varnish, wood stain or a microporous finish) to the entire door, including its edges, before installation. This step is essential to limit wood movement caused by changes in humidity. For routine care of treated wood, a slightly damp cloth is enough. As solid pine is a natural material, two doors ordered separately may differ slightly in colour; opaque paint creates a uniform look, while wood stain or clear varnish allows this variation to show. Reapply the finish as soon as signs of wear appear.

How do I trim this solid pine cupboard door?

Use a circular saw fitted with a fine-toothed blade (at least 60 teeth) to prevent the wood fibres from tearing. Mark the cutting line with a pencil and guide the saw with a straightedge. Then sand the cut edges with 120-grit sandpaper and apply a coat of finish to the cut edge.

Is this door compatible with a sliding rail system?

How many hinges are needed per door?

Allow for at least 3 hinges per door, positioned at the top, centre and bottom. For doors 2 524 mm high, 4 hinges are recommended for better support.

Can I order two identical doors for a double-door opening?

Yes. This door is sold individually. For a double-door opening, order two in the same size. The total width will then be twice the width of one door, plus the necessary clearances.

Why might two doors ordered separately differ in colour?

Each solid pine board has its own colour and grain, depending on how the tree was cut and grown. Two doors ordered at different times may therefore differ in shade; this is not a defect. Applying opaque paint to all the doors ensures a uniform appearance.

What is the difference between this trimmable door and the folding doors that cannot be trimmed?

The folding doors come with a rail and all necessary fittings, but cannot be adjusted in height. This trimmable door is sold without hinges but can be trimmed to height to fit any opening – making it a better choice when the available height is less than the standard 205 cm of the folding doors.
