Installation advice

Measure your opening in height and width before selecting the size. Choose the size immediately above your opening, which will then be adjusted by trimming. To trim the lacquered MDF, use a circular saw with a fine carbide blade (60 teeth minimum) to avoid chipping the finish. Work slowly and guide the saw with a straight edge. Apply a white edge strip to the cut edges to protect the MDF and maintain the lacquered appearance. Fix the panel with a minimum of 3 hinges for the 199.5 cm height and 4 hinges for the 252.4 cm height.

Care and protection

Clean the white lacquered surface with a slightly damp cloth (plain water). Avoid abrasive sponges and acidic household products that dull the finish. For minor surface scratches, a touch-up with a white satin lacquer paint available in DIY shops restores the appearance. This panel is not treated for moisture resistance: avoid rooms without ventilation that are exposed to steam.

Frequently asked questions

Can this panel be trimmed in height?

Yes, this panel is trimmable in height only. Use a fine carbide-tipped saw blade to avoid chipping the lacquered finish. Apply masking tape along the cut line before sawing to minimise splintering.

Is this panel compatible with a sliding rail?

No. This panel is designed exclusively for hinge fitting. For a sliding installation, see the crossbar doors Pine crossbar door or louvred doors Louvred pine door 21 mm compatible with rails and hinges.

How many hinges are needed per panel?

Allow a minimum of 3 hinges for the 199.5 cm height and 4 hinges for the 252.4 cm height. Space them evenly along the height for optimum support.

What is the difference between this trimmable MDF panel and the non-trimmable white lacquered folding door?

The white lacquered folding door is supplied with rail and complete hardware, not trimmable, for a standard 205 cm opening. This trimmable MDF panel is sold without hinges but is height-adjustable, making it the better choice for non-standard height openings.
