This articulated horizontal joint connects two sections of 80x30mm aluminium handrail from the Quadrum range at a variable angle. Use it wherever the balustrade changes direction horizontally: at a landing corner, a return, or in an L-shaped or U-shaped layout. Compatible exclusively with the 80x30mm Quadrum handrail, it is available in gloss black and polished stainless-steel finish to match the existing installation.

Sold individually, this joint fits without welding or complex cutting. It removes the need to mitre the handrail ends precisely for each corner: the articulated mechanism accommodates variations in angle and gives a neat finish even at non-standard angles.

Installation tips

Set the joint to the required angle before fitting it onto the handrail ends. Measure the angle of your layout accurately with a protractor or adjustable square. Tighten the articulation mechanism once you have confirmed the angle; the joint will then hold it rigidly. Care and protection

Clean with soapy water. Check that it is tight annually. Rinse with fresh water in marine environments or where de-icing salt is used to prevent mineral deposits in the articulation mechanism.

Before you buy: this joint is specifically for the 80x30mm QUADRUM handrail. It is not compatible with the ELLIPSIS handrail (100x30mm) or other profiles. It accommodates horizontal angles (changes of direction in plan), but not changes in slope, such as on stairs. For straight-line joints, use the corresponding straight connector. Allow one joint per horizontal change of direction. Tightening screws are included.
