Ellipsis Range Articulated Handrail Connector – Adjustable-Angle Aluminium Joint

This articulated connector joins two sections of Ellipsis handrail at an adjustable angle where the balustrade changes direction – at a landing corner, a mezzanine return or an L-shaped staircase. It is designed specifically for the rounded-profile handrail in the WoodUp Ellipsis range (Ø50mm section) and is not compatible with the Quadrum range. Available in gloss black and polished stainless steel finishes, it gives the installation a continuous appearance.

Sold individually, it is used wherever the handrail changes direction. For right angles (90°) or non-standard angles, this articulated connector is the simplest solution – there is no need to mitre-cut the ends or weld or glue the joints.

Installation advice

Position the articulated connector at the desired angle between the two handrail sections. Set the angle before tightening the locking mechanism – once tightened, the connector holds the angle permanently. Then insert the ends of the handrail sections into the connector sockets and secure them according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Care and protection

Clean with soapy water. Check the tightness of the locking mechanism annually – a loose articulated connector can allow movement in the handrail under load. Outdoors, rinsing with fresh water after exposure to salt (sea spray or de-icing salt) helps prevent mineral deposits on the joint mechanism.
