The COLOMBIER canopy shelters a front door with a curved clear polycarbonate panel on a metal frame. Its arched shape sets it apart from straight canopies and suits both contemporary and older façades.

Choosing the right door canopy

To choose the width, start with the width of the door: allow approximately 30 cm extra so the canopy covers the frame. A 120 cm canopy suits a 90 cm door, while a 160 cm canopy suits an entrance up to 130 cm wide. Then check the available height above the door: the COLOMBIER canopy is 47.5 cm high, including the brackets.

Assembly tips

Mounting surface: fix the canopy to a sound load-bearing wall made of concrete, brick or concrete blocks. On an externally insulated façade, use fixings suitable for the insulation; these are not supplied.

Marking out: determine the height above the door, centre the canopy over the door frame and mark the fixing points, checking they are level. Position the curve with its highest point in the centre, and give the side gutter a slight slope towards the drainage side.

Installation: fix the brackets, check they are level, then fit the panel. Allow for two people to install it.

Care and protection

The powder-coated anthracite grey frame needs no treatment. Clean the canopy once or twice a year with clean water and mild soap. Use a soft sponge or microfibre cloth on the polycarbonate panel: abrasive or solvent-based products could scratch or dull it.

Both panels let light through and resist UV rays. Polycarbonate is more flexible and more impact-resistant, for example against hail or a branch. Acrylic is more rigid and retains a glass-like clarity. The satin acrylic on the AIZAC model diffuses light and provides privacy.

How do you care for an anthracite grey metal canopy?

Once or twice a year, rinse the canopy with clean water and wash it with mild soap and a non-abrasive sponge. Avoid using a pressure washer too close to the panel or any solvent-based products.
