ODEREN Door Canopy Aluminium Polycarbonate Anthracite Grey
The ODEREN door canopy protects a standard entrance with a corrosion-resistant aluminium frame and a transparent polycarbonate panel. It measures 140 x 82 x 68 cm and comes in anthracite grey RAL 7016. The polycarbonate is UV-resistant and does not yellow, so natural light still reaches the entrance. The aluminium does not rust and needs no treatment after installation. It is the most affordable model in the range and comes as a kit with fixings.

Choosing the right door canopy
To choose the width, start with the width of the door: allow around 30 cm extra so the canopy covers the door frame. A 120 cm canopy suits a 90 cm door, while a 160 cm canopy suits an entrance up to 130 cm wide. Then check the clearance above the door: the ODEREN canopy is 68 cm high, including the brackets.

Installation advice
Mounting surface: the canopy must be fixed to a sound load-bearing wall made of concrete, brick or concrete block. For a façade with external insulation, use fixings suitable for the insulation; these are not supplied.
Marking out: determine the height above the door, centre the canopy over the frame and mark level fixing points. At 68 cm high, check the available space beneath a balcony or roof overhang.
Installation: secure the brackets, check they are level, then fit the panel. Allow for two people to install it.
Care and protection
The anthracite grey powder-coated frame needs no treatment. Clean the canopy once or twice a year with clean water and mild soap. Use a soft sponge or microfibre cloth on the polycarbonate panel: abrasive or solvent-based products could scratch or dull it.

Is a 140 cm canopy suitable for a standard door?
Yes. A standard front door is 80 to 90 cm wide, so a 140 cm canopy extends well beyond it on each side and also protects the frame and threshold.
What width of canopy should you choose for a front door?
Choose a canopy around 30 cm wider than the door to cover the frame and protect the threshold from rain. The ODEREN canopy is 140 cm wide. For double doors or a large entrance, the 197 cm LANCISE is the widest model in the range.
What type of wall can a door canopy be fixed to?
Fix it to a sound load-bearing wall made of concrete, brick or concrete block. The kit includes fixings for these common surfaces. For a façade with external insulation, cladding or an old, crumbling wall, use suitable fixings and consider seeking professional advice.
Polycarbonate or acrylic: what is the difference?
Both panels let light through and are UV-resistant. Polycarbonate is more flexible and better withstands impacts from hail or a branch. Acrylic is more rigid and retains glass-like clarity. The satin acrylic on the AIZAC model diffuses light and provides some privacy.
How do you maintain an anthracite grey metal canopy?
Once or twice a year, rinse the canopy with clean water and wash it with mild soap and a non-abrasive sponge. Avoid using a pressure washer too close to the panel or solvent-based products.
