This metal double-action pivot kit is designed for saloon-style Western doors. It allows them to open both ways and return automatically to the closed position. The kit contains everything needed for installation: top and bottom pivots and fixing screws. It is compatible with Western doors in the Woodup range (White lacquered Western door, Natural pine Western door or Rustic Western door) and with other doors of comparable dimensions.

The pivots attach to the top and bottom of each door leaf along a vertical axis. Their mechanism provides smooth movement in both directions, making them suitable for busy areas such as kitchens, entrances and commercial spaces. The metal is treated for durability in everyday indoor use.

Installation advice

Position the bottom pivot on the floor, centred beneath the door leaf, and pre-drill the floor using the template holes as a guide. Then fix the top pivot to the lintel or top rail of the frame, perfectly aligned vertically with the bottom pivot. Fit the door leaf onto both pivots and check that it swings freely in both directions. Vertical misalignment makes the door harder to open: check with a spirit level. Refer to the assembly instructions supplied with the kit for the exact drilling dimensions.

Care and protection

Lubricate the pivots with a few drops of light oil once or twice a year to keep them moving smoothly. If they squeak, cleaning followed by lubrication is usually enough. Check the fixing screws annually, particularly on wooden floors, which may move slightly with the seasons.
