Quadrum Aluminium Extension Kit – 100cm Extension for Square Rail Balustrade
The Quadrum extension kit allows you to extend an existing Quadrum balustrade by 100 cm per module. It connects directly to the Quadrum aluminium starter kit or to another extension kit to cover spans of 220 cm, 320 cm or more. Comprising one pre-assembled post, a 100 cm handrail and five 100 cm square rails, it is available in gloss black or gloss stainless steel finishes to remain consistent with the starter kit.
Anodised aluminium guarantees corrosion resistance with no special maintenance — this kit is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, including marine environments with regular rinsing with fresh water. The junction accessories between modules (rail and handrail connectors) and the floor fixing hardware are not included — they are to be ordered separately depending on your configuration.

Installation tips
Connection: Position the extension kit in line with the starter kit. Connect the square rails between modules using the Quadrum connectors Quadrum 16x16mm rail connector. Connect the handrail using the 80x30mm horizontal connectors Quadrum MC articulated connector 80x30mm. If your configuration includes a corner, use the articulated connectors Quadrum 16x16mm articulated rail connector. These accessories are to be ordered separately.
Fixing: Fix the extension kit post to the floor using fixings suitable for your surface (not supplied). Carefully align the post with the posts of the starter kit before fixing the rails — a misaligned post creates tension in the rails and strains the junctions. Check the horizontal alignment of the rails with a spirit level before final tightening.
Maintenance and protection
Same maintenance as the starter kit: annual cleaning with soapy water, rinsing with fresh water in marine environments. Anodised aluminium cannot be painted or treated — anodising is a permanent surface protection. Check the tightening of the junction accessories annually, as they may loosen slightly due to thermal expansion and contraction outdoors.
Frequently asked questions
Can multiple extension kits be used in succession?
Yes. The Quadrum system is designed to be stacked. 1 starter kit + 2 extension kits = 320 cm span. 1 starter kit + 3 extension kits = 420 cm. There is no theoretical limit, but beyond 4–5 metres, check the rigidity of the assembly — an additional intermediate post may be required. Order as many extension kits as needed, making sure to order the corresponding junction accessories.
Are the junction accessories specific to the Quadrum range?
Yes. The Quadrum rail connectors, the handrail connectors Quadrum MC articulated connector 80x30mm and the articulated connectors Quadrum 16x16mm articulated rail connector are specific to the Quadrum range and are not compatible with the Ellipsis range. Always check that you are ordering the accessories for the correct range before finalising your order.
Does the gloss black finish resist scratches under intensive use?
The gloss black anodised finish is more susceptible to micro-scratches than the gloss stainless steel finish, especially in outdoor use exposed to wind and particles. For a heavily used terrace, the gloss stainless steel finish retains its appearance better over time. Both finishes are perfectly corrosion-resistant — the difference is purely aesthetic in terms of the longevity of the glossy look.
How to choose between gloss black and gloss stainless steel finish for the Quadrum?
The gloss black finish integrates well into dark contemporary interiors (concrete, steel, dark wood) and creates a strong contrast against light walls. The gloss stainless steel finish is more versatile and pairs easily with all colour palettes — it is the most popular finish for outdoor use as it better conceals micro-scratches caused by dust and wind. Choose the same finish for the starter kit and all extension kits to ensure visual consistency.
