This single post from the Quadrum range is a structural element in anodised aluminium designed to complement or customise an existing Quadrum balustrade. It is supplied with its square rail brackets and its fixing shoe — it fixes directly to the floor without prior assembly of these elements. It is used primarily to add an intermediate post on a long span, or to compose a balustrade entirely piece by piece.

Available in gloss black and bright stainless finishes, it maintains the visual consistency of the Quadrum ensemble. The floor fixing hardware is not included as it depends on the substrate (concrete, wood, tiling). This post is exclusively compatible with the WoodUp Quadrum range — the rail brackets are sized for 16x16mm square rails.

Installation tips

Fix the shoe to the floor with the appropriate fixings (not included) before positioning the post. On concrete: Ø8mm expansion anchors. On timber floor: Ø6mm stainless screws minimum 50mm length. Check verticality in both axes with a spirit level before final tightening. If this post is added in an intermediate position on an existing span, connect the rails on either side with 16x16mm Quadrum rail connectors.

Maintenance and protection

Clean with soapy water annually. Check the tightening of the shoe and rail brackets once a year. Rinse with fresh water in marine environments after episodes of salt wind.

No. The Quadrum post has a flat profile with 16x16mm square rail brackets. The Ellipsis post has a round profile with Ø16mm round rail brackets. Both ranges use specific, non-interchangeable components. Always ensure you order within the same range as your existing installation.

At what spacing should an intermediate Quadrum post be placed?

The Quadrum system is designed for modules of 100cm (extension kit) and 120cm (starter kit). If you are adding an intermediate post on an existing span, place it in the middle of the relevant section. Beyond 200cm without an intermediate post, deflection of the rails under lateral load may become noticeable — it is advisable to add a post.

Is the floor fixing hardware really absent from the kit?

Yes. The floor fixing hardware is not included as it depends on the type of substrate and local standards. Use Ø6mm stainless screws (timber floor) or Ø8mm expansion anchors (concrete) with the corresponding washers. For tiling, use a diamond drill bit before fitting nylon anchors suited to the thickness of the slab.
