Installation advice

Measure the clear opening between the uprights, both vertically and horizontally. Allow a clearance of 2 to 3 mm on each side. As this door leaf cannot be trimmed, its dimensions must fit your opening without cutting. Apply the finish before installation to all faces and edges. For a sliding installation, check that your chosen track system is compatible with a 28 mm door leaf – the Woodup aluminium Aluminium sliding system kit accepts thicknesses ≥ 16 mm. For a hinged installation, choose hinges suited to the 28 mm thickness and the weight of the door leaf.

Care and protection

Unfinished 28 mm pine is more resistant to warping than the 21 mm version thanks to its greater mass. As with all natural solid wood, its colour and grain vary slightly from board to board. Untreated, it remains stable in dry indoor conditions. To limit changes in colour, apply a clear wood stain or matt varnish. Dust the louvres two to three times a year with a soft brush. Clean a finished door leaf with mild, pH-neutral soapy water.

What is the difference between the 28 mm Pine Louvred Door 28 mm and the 21 mm Pine Louvred Door 21 mm?

The 28 mm door leaf is thicker and therefore more rigid, reducing the risk of warping in larger sizes (242 cm high). The 21 mm version is lighter and suits smaller sizes. For large openings or areas of heavy use, the 28 mm version is recommended.

Is the Woodup Aluminium sliding system compatible with this 28 mm door leaf?

Yes. The Aluminium sliding system accepts door leaves with a thickness of ≥ 16 mm. The 28 mm door leaf is therefore compatible, provided its total weight does not exceed the 70 kg limit per door.

Can this door leaf be trimmed, unlike the 21 mm model?

Yes. This model cannot be trimmed, like the 21 mm louvred door leaf. Cutting it would damage the structure of the louvres and destabilise the door leaf. Measure carefully before ordering.

Why does this 28 mm door leaf differ slightly in colour from the 21 mm model?

Natural pine is a living material whose colour varies with the way each board is cut and grown, regardless of thickness. A 28 mm door leaf and a 21 mm door leaf ordered separately may therefore differ slightly in shade. Applying opaque paint to both gives a uniform final appearance.
